Dec. 19th, 2009 01:07 pmOverall, it has been a good week.
Well, okay, Monday sucked, but that made for a nice low bar to clear for the remainder, eh? Eric and I had a good long talk and cleared up some shit, which is often tough but good work to do. On Tuesday I had lunch with Amanda and ran some errands... Wednesday was work but there was a unit meeting off-site which makes the day go a lot faster, though I always feel awkward around my co-workers in semi-social settings. I never have much to say to them and just feel a bit like a weirdo.
Wednesday evening was fun though because Pixie is trying to get her yoga teacher training certification, and is recruiting guinea pigs to teach for free. I've been to plenty of hatha classes, but her thing is Kundalini, and JD wanted to sign on too, so we both got all yogaed up. She wants to teach to a variety of levels and for people wanting different things out of yoga- my goal was for flexibility and health, JD's for relaxation. I think we got a good class in all that, plus she threw in some yoga for couples stuff too. That breath of fire shit's fun; glad I've been doing all this singing because it gives your diaphragm a hell of a workout.
Conor's come to hang out since his wife's out of town; we all kicked around Thursday and chatted. Friday I took Bowie to the vet (nothing appears to be seriously wrong with him, but things have been 'not quite right' long enough that it seemed worth it to have him checked out) and went on a supremely successful mistletoe hunt with Gordon... I don't know if it was the summer drought or the fall rains, but there was so much where we looked it worries me a little since it's a parasite.
After that was some house-picking-up for the Rock Band event. It was a barely-planned thing that I just mentioned to a few people, but we had plenty show up- Threeve and Amanda, JD, Stevie, Mike, Savanni and Guen, Dave Huggles... Conor and Eric were around but mostly chatted with folks on the periphery. We started out on RB2, then the Beatles were requested and we did that until some of the folks on the periphery expressed Beatles-fatigue so we switched back to RB2. I had to kick everyone out at 1am due to shiftwork the next day.
Since I'm thinking of taking a break from choir, I'm trying to decide if I want to continue doing my weekend shift from 8am to noon on Saturday... or possibly move it to Sunday morning. I'm not sure if having to go to bed early on Saturday night is an improvement over having to do it on Friday night. Hmm. Maybe I'll leave it like it is.
Tonight, date night to see a Master Pancake Christmas special late tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to seriously try to sleep in, because tomorrow evening is the Yule ritual, then after that I'll be doing my traditional longest night vigil- staying up until dawn the next day. I was lucky to get Monday off from work so I don't have to be to work a half-hour after sunrise. There's not a ton planned for next week except for having to work at my state job on Christmas eve- it's an 8 hour shift as opposed to my usual ten, and the lines will probably be close to dead all day. Eric wants to go hang out with his sister on Christmas Day; his mom's staying with her so we'll kill two birds with one stone, and Brö would like a visit too so we're hoping to smoosh that in there somewhere too.
