Sep. 4th, 2008 01:56 pmBecause of my stupid job, I was late to our first rehearsal after the summer break. Hopefully this will change if I can get this other job and fix my schedule. But it was fine; and in fact it was a good thing I showed up, because the tenor section was very sparse. My presence brought it up to three- even though we'd had as many as nine last season.
We're already planning to sing at services this coming Sunday. Because of prior commitments I am only going to be able to make the first service- but the piece we're doing is a 4-parter, and so they'll take any tenors they can get. It's the Bobby McFerrin version of the 23rd Psalm, which sounds nothing like 'Don't Worry Be Happy'... I seem to recall that someone on my friend's list posted the lyrics awhile back.

We've got some other interesting pieces too. One I hate. One's in French, which is always fun to mangle. Death to the American 'r'! It ought to be a good season.
