Nov. 8th, 2006 09:57 amWhat is this strange feeling I'm having? It's been so long since I was pleased with the results of an election, I barely remember what that's like. Gov. Goodhair was reëlected, but that's not unexpected. The Dems got the House back, and the votes seem to say they'll get the Senate too. I've already heard:
1. Over-cocky remarks by giddy Dems that will almost certainly come back to bite them on the ass later
2. Cynical complaints that nothing's really changed, they're all corrupt assholes in bed with the corporations (that kind of thinking made me vote for Nader, and look how well that turned out)
...but right now I don't give a shit, even though I know these are both legitimate concerns. For now, I'm going to revel in this and be happy. It's been too long. For once, I don't feel embarassed in front of the other countries.
