Nov. 9th, 2005 05:32 pmThe tour people called yesterday and said we were the only ones signed up for the February tour, so they pulled the plug. She said we could go at one of their other dates, the nearest one starting 3/19 (our wedding anniversary, incidentally). I said "so it's the same?" and she said "Oh sure! Same trip, and we'll schedule you for the same excursions!" and I said "and it will cost the same?" knowing full well that the price for that date was $200 more. She put me on hold, and said they could halve the difference. Meh. She also said that by adding us to that tour date, it brings the number of people signed up for that one up to eight, which is the minimum they need to do the tour. It can go as high as 45. I kind of hope it stays low. If anyone wants to go along, though, you have until January 7 (if I recall correctly) to sign up.
Hub and I went to the Burlington coat place and searched for coats. I looked in the men section, but all the stuff that fit me in one area didn't elsewhere, so stuff was either too tight across the chest or looked like a freaking circus tent. We wandered over to women's and after pushing past the "cute" coats in yellow and pink and powder blue, found a nice stock of black long coats of various designs. I ended up going with a shorter one, it hits around the knee. I think they call it car-length. It also has the buttons right there on the outside in front of God and everybody. What is it with women's coats having that secret flap the buttons hide behind? It would've been okay if they didn't sew them so that each button had it's own little compartment to go in; maybe coats appearing to have buttons is a big fashion no-no, but it just made it more work. Yes, I really am that lazy. But it has pockets and a button-out liner and is nice and packable.
I'm still trying to decide about boots.
