Friday was Beltane, and I arrived maybe 5 minutes late. They had waited for me, and a usual it was nice to be able to experience a ritual as a participant rather than a leader. It flew by, and a lot of people seemed to poop out early after feast, and I was home by 11. Saturday hub and friend Paul went off shooting. I had thought about heading to Kerrville since there is another used scooter for sale, but since D&D was scheduled for that evening I would have been rushed, so I decided to hold off 'til next week. If I'm meant to have it, it will be there. And it's not something I need, so I don't want to be rushed.
Two of the 4 people for D&D canceled at the last minute, so it was just Brenda. We bandied about the idea of playing games, but no one was feeling particularly excited about the idea so we watched one of our Netflix movies, 'The Terminal'. I'd heard a lot of good things about it, but it was pretty schmaltzy and while not 100% predictable, it was still hovering around 90%. But, eh, it was Netflix, and it was fun to hang with Brenda and chat and make snarky comments. Hub limited himself to one 'Wilson' reference, I'm so proud of him!
Sunday was rainy day. Hub floated in the tank while I taught class, and we just kind of dicked around. I decided I wanted to get some Cardinal tetras to match the lone little one in my 10 gallon tank (though he had some Neons to school with). We went to Amazonia first, because they said they had Cardinals for cheaper than AquaTek. But when I got there, the poor things looked sickly- their colors were not very bright, and there were several goners belly-up in the tank. I thought about going with Neons instead, but that tank had sushi in it too. So we headed over to AquaTek, and they had both Neons and Cardinals that were lively and beautiful, and no sushi. They looked so nice, in fact, I decided on impulse to get some Neons for the 10g and get a whole school of Cardinals for the 55g. I've always thought they were the coolest looking little fishies and even though some folks had told me they were fussy about water conditions, I've managed to keep the lone one alive in the 10g for several months now. So there are now 10 new guys in the 55g; hopefully they'll like it enough to stick around.
We had more D&D planned for last night and you will have to indulge me in some nerd-bragging.
( fine, what lame thing happened that you're so proud of? )
