I am one of those people that think we all need to have less babies, especially Americans, even if we can afford it (and considering how many resources a typical American uses, *especially* since we can afford it). You may agree or not, that's cool. But I was looking to find an organization to support one day over a year ago, and thought of Zero Population Growth. I did a web search, and saw there was another organization called Negative Population Growth. Wow, I thought, they must be hard-core! I'll throw my money at them. Their website at the time seemed very vague (haven't checked it lately) but I thought what the hell, I'll send them $20 for the cause.

Well, the mail from them started coming in, and it was all about immigration. Gotta keep the furriners out so there's more for us! Hey, they even sent my name to mailing lists that focused on initiatives supporting English-only signs and stuff! Which I do not give the least of a shit about. There was nothing about lessening our impact on the environment, or urging people to maybe think before reproducing- no, it's all about keeping the brown people out of our great country (legal and illegal).

They have threatened several times to drop me from their mailing list since I never sent them any more money. They are a bunch of fucking teases, because they never did drop me. In fact today I get another letter begging for more money, and an article praising Gov. Ahnuld for making noise about immigration (though apparently he can't actually do anything about it since immigration is a federal issue). So I stuffed all their paperwork in their postage-paid envelope (ignoring the 'please put a stamp here and save us money!' plea) along with a letter telling them that I have no interest in their silly agenda, will never send them money ever again, and that they should take me off any list they own that has my name on it (including the one that they sell to other organizations). I sure hope they get the hint.

Edit:
Just checked out their site- they still mention 'green space' and 'incentives for smaller families', which hasn't been mentioned in any newsletter they have ever sent me. I feel like they're trolling for Green members by being intentionally misleading on their site. Wankers.

I taught an Initiate level class on Monday, and am happy to report that my energy level was up to the task. I have also been working on the next class, and talking to Jodi and asking her all sorts of questions. She answers them happily and it's neat to get her perspective on stuff. So, I still 'got it' which is a relief. Hopefully the Dedicant class on Thursday will go as well.

Yesterday and today both I ran *an* errand and then had to come home for a nap. Like, a couple of hours of nap. That's really getting kind of old and I am trying not to push things. But I sure hope this non-existent energy level thing goes away soon.

Anyway, as promised, the foodie review. After class Monday Gordon offered to take us out to eat. Everyone agreed to Indian while I was in the bathroom. I was not feeling particularly thrilled about that- I like Indian most days but just wasn't in the mood, but agreed anyway since I wasn't turned off enough to re-engage the decision-making process. But as we were heading over there, I spotted a new Italian place where Iron Chef used to be at Burnet and 183 (where a Lone Star was before that) and said "ooh, look, new Italian place!" Gordon took the bait and turned in. He's all Aries-like and can barely resist a chance to try something new. The place is called 'Tin Tin Nio' and the review is mixed. mixed you say? )
