It seems pretty certain that there will be no lunar eclipse viewing tonight. What a disappointment. Though it makes it a lot easier to make the command decision to have ritual indoors; I think it's going to be too cold to expect people to get a lot out of long guided meditations and such if they're outside.

Wednesday was busy-busy day; I worked 'til 2, then met with a potential student, and rushed to an appointment with my chiropractor at 4. Then home through heavy traffic, and with time to have some dinner and await a meeting with a second potential student... who never showed up and has not answered my emails. Hrmmm.

Thursday was more relaxed. I think I just dicked around 'til hub came home around 2, then talked him into going for early dinner/late lunch at Trudy's. I'd been craving their avocado dish, which was quite tasty. We rented out 'Matrix 2', since we'd planned to see M3 the next day and wanted to catch up on all the plot points. It probably says something that we fell asleep during the highway chase/fight sequence.

Yesterday I was pleasantly busy. I decided to make spaghetti, so I planned a shopping expedition. Then I read about Kirby being ill, and her mom dropping the ball. I've been ill, and though my parents never dropped the ball, they were always hundreds of miles away so I remember how being ill and essentially alone is a big ball of suck. I offered to pick up a couple of things at the store for her. So I did, then decided to buy some snacks for a good cause.

I can't find a good link to an article right now, but basically Planned Parenthood is trying to open up a clinic where (among many other things) abortions would occur. Now, there are already 3 other places where you can get an abortion in Austin so it's not like this is the first one. Anyway. Some pro-lifers found out the contractor who was going to build the building, and flooded his biz with calls, and apparently started harassing him at home, so he quit. Now PP is looking for someone to build their building. A group at UT (my ol' alma mater) had a bake sale to help raise funds, so I bought some brownies and a cookie. My brother called it the baby-killing cookie; sorta reminds me of Jack Chick referring to the communion wafer as 'the death cookie'.

So I took Kirby some abortion brownies and some cute campus propaganda to read. Then I headed home, and Bob came by to head out to M3.

The movie was... well, okay. They really went for the obvious in some parts, and were irritatingly unclear elsewhere. But hey, it was pretty, it was a matinee, and it was the end of the series and I don't think I can say I associate with nerds and not go see it. Bob said he had really low expectations and was pleasantly surprised, so take that as you will.

Then home for spaghetti. Brenda popped by- we'd tried to tempt her to play hooky at come with us, but she was good. We watched some of the special features on the second disc of M2- if you have a chance, watch the MTV Movie Awards clip. It's sort of hard to find to if you're not looking for it, but it's hysterical. I think I'll watch it again before I run it back to the store. Anyway, spaghetti was good and we had a fun time and good conversation.
