Jul. 14th, 2003 04:46 pmHo-hum. Another work week. Bleh.
So we have all this freaking ham... hub's been trying to come up with creative ways to cook it. I yelled 'kolaches!' and sure enough, he found a recipe and made ham and cheese kolaches. I took two for lunch, and they were great! Tonight is some sort of pasta carbonara.
The job situation is... well, different, I don't know as I'd go so far as to say 'better.' Hub was offered a contract for a couple of months at Pervasive for 20 hours a week. This will make him about $100 more a month than unemployment, which stops the unemployment if we need it later. This is nice, but doesn't come near to paying the bills still. We're getting by because I'm in forbearance in my student loan, and making partial payments on my car payment. When the insurance goes up $250 in September, we'll be screwed. He has an interview for a part-time desktop publisher, but that'll only pay $12-15/hour if he gets it. Work is nice, but work that pays the bills would be nicer if you're listening, work gods.
