Weird. My pregnant molly is no longer pregnant.

She was round as a little marble with fins yesterday afternoon, and I was wondering when she was going to go... I checked on her a lot, but I had a thing to go to that evening. When I came back, I looked at her- and she was a more standard fish-shape. ??? Either she went and got a little fishy abortion, or (I suspect) the lot of them engaged in A Modest Proposal. I mean, I'm pro-choice and all, and suppose it's in keeping with the general child-free vibe in the home, but dang, I was curious.

It's been a nice busy day. I picked up a bit and went to visit Kirby and see her new classroom- she's started teaching 4th graders. Because teachers get paid in garlic and pins she had to decorate with all her own stuff, so it looks very her- she knows how to decorate a place to make it feel very comfortable and inviting, and interesting too. It made me wish I was back in school again. I loved school as a kid.

Hub may be looking at a job where my brother works- an insurance company. I didn't peg hub as an insurance kinda guy, but I wouldn't've thought Bro would end up staying there for going on 5 years, and very happy with his job. It sounds like relaxed work environment and good management (just happy you showed up today, stays out of the way otherwise) plus fairly decent bennies. It's not the State, but sounds pretty close. I hope he gets it. We are really broke.

So after I got back from visiting Kirby, we picked up around the house some more, including tackling the tank office and straightening up papers that have crept into every corner, and moving some of the last of the furniture out of the garage. Hubby did some shopping while I prepared for class- but one of the students didn't show up. It sucks, because I gave a whole lot of material in tonight's class and I'm not even sure what happened to him. He usually calls if he's running late or sick, so I suspect that he just forgot. Oops. :(

The house looks ever-so-much nicer. I can be a person of clutter, but there is a thresh hold where if it's too cluttered for too long, I get irritable and want to torch it all. I was starting to get cranky and feel actually relieved now that some of the mess has been put back to rights.

I still had a couple of bouts of crampiness, which stinks. Bah.

I'm getting jazzed about D&D- it's such fun and we all are talking about our characters and all the neat things they can do like a bunch of dorks. I can't wait to play again!

OK, I've seen this before, but I need to have it handy. I got it from this excellent article. I think it applies to patriotism as well.
Jesus explains how to pray: "And when you pray, do not imitate the hypocrites; they love to say their prayers standing up in the synagogues and at the street corners for people to see them. In truth, I tell you, they have had their reward. But when you pray, go to your private room, shut yourself in, and pray so to your Father who is in that secret place, and your Father who sees all that is done in secret will reward you." -Matthew 6:5-6
