Still more rain. The headache yesterday tried to kill me, so I bugged out a couple of hours early and took a nap. It fixed things up in time for me to watch some of a movie on HBO called 'Cash Crop'. It was a truly stupid movie that had elements of 'Reefer Madness' and an after-school special. I flipped over to 'What Dreams May Come', certainly a very treacly movie with a sickeningly sweet ending, but I still love it. Except for commercials.

I tease hub because when he is annoyed by something he often says "I hate ______!" I reserve the word 'hate' for truly odious things. Well, I hate commercials. They are the visible sign of the existence of corporations, which I'm beginning to hate on principal as well. This article gives you some ideas as to why, if you need any. Blar.

Well, lunch was excellent. We had our unit meeting at Madras Pavilion, which has 'southern Indian vegetarian cuisine.' They had a buffet, so I got to try several little yummy things. And they brought us each a bread thing with a scoop of some oniony peay potaoey, um, stuff in it. Tasty! I've been eating a bunch of Indian food lately. I think I will still hold Chinese and Italian as favorites, but my appreciation of Indian food grows.

More rain. I offered to drive to lunch, and when I went to get my car the parking lot had about 6 inches of water in it. I got soaked up past my ankles, and am still feeling squishy and damp. My legs also hurt for some reason; it's not the muscles. Maybe I'm developing arthritis at the ripe ol' age of 34! Wheee.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. Tomorrow is... well... something, I forgot what. Oh yeah! One of the students is swinging by to braid his cingulam for Pagan Dedication, and pick up some money. He travels a bunch, and popped online to look for good airfares to Georgia for our Trad's big reunion/camp-out in September. He managed to find a round-trip for under $200... wheee! So he bought us both tickets, and I need to pay him back. I hope the flight makes, and isn't derailed (so to speak) by some stupid terrorist shit like last year. Pardon my pettiness. The Pope mentioned that the theme of this year's gathering was going to be all about Underworld stories, and I told her about an Oestara ritual I wrote a zillion years ago (OK, it was 1994) that had a Tammuz-Ishtar play in it. She said she'd like to see it, so I typed it up and sent it to her. She then said she loved it, and wanted me to make it about twice as long, and that we'd do just the play (not the Oestara ritual, obviously) on Friday night. That's Friday the 13th, y'all. Haw haw haw!

Saturday is another meeting of our embryonic local CoG council, and a test re-take for one of the students who didn't pass the first time around. When I took it, the thing was so amazingly easy that it was almost insulting, so I made it harder. Maybe I went too far- this is not the first time a student failed it. Though this student has had a lot of personal other things to think about too, so perhaps it's okay.

Man, I want to go home. Only 1 more hour!!!
