Jun. 11th, 2002 09:24 amI am the Mielikki zombie today. I need braaaaiiins. OK, more accurately, I need another few hours of sleep. That's what I get; but it was all worth it, I tell ya!
Sunday was Barbie's pool party and barbecue at Casa de Mellow. Bob brought friend Josh over and Hub cooked up yummy things on the grill, then we all watched Adult Swim. There was supposed to be swimming, but Adult Swim was as close as we got. My sweet lord, but Sealab 2021 is hy-larious. Josh is funny too- he's one of those guys that is always laughing and making jokes. He has a weird sense of humor that seems to revolve around a lot of butt jokes, but he manages to pull it off. You have to be there, though- it's as much delivery as anything else.
Yesterday there was a solar eclipse. Mr.Sun was only about half-covered here in Austin, and I didn't get to see it directly because I was at work. However I sit near a window that faces east, and though it happened at sunset I was able to look out and see how eerie and dark it was. I'm sure a lot of people who don't pay attention to these sorts of things didn't even realize anything was going on, but you know if it was the olden days before TVs and Starbucks and whatall, that it would have just freaked some people right out. Amazing times we live in, long on science but sometimes short on wonder... even so, wow.
Someone brought something to work that smelled like chicken pot pie, and I got a weird, big craving. Hub didn't feel like trying to make it, so we planned to go to Marie Callendar's after I got off work. Then I remembered that KFC makes 'em, so we tried that since it was a lot cheaper. It was pretty good, believe it or not.
Then I paid bills. Ugh. The only bright spot was
todfox telling me about the hippie house he may be moving to- it sounded really cool. He's waiting to see if his current landlord is going to make him an offer he can't refuse, but it sounds like current landlord is in major denial about the recession. We shall see.
Then I went swimming with hub. By now it was after 11pm. We talked mainly about sex, and how he wants to start writing again. As is somewhat common from what I hear, since he's been getting laid regularly his muse has taken a vacation and he hasn't been as creative as he was when he was all lonely and tortured. So he's trying to spur some creativity by writing erotica. He's read some amateur stuff in Yahoo groups and said it was truly wretched, bad, laughable stuff. To hear him describe it, like a 13 year old describing a porn movie. I hope he does this, I love his writing and I know he can pull it off. He is a perfectionist though and would rather not do something that do it badly, but I try to encourage him. Then we got to talking about what turns me on, and got all carnal. Wheeee! I'm paying for it now, though... zzzzzzzz. Yeah, I know, cry me a freaking river.
