austin_tycho: crater (Leafy and dark)
I seem to write more entries when I'm at work. Oh, well.

I'm off Sundays for this month but working Wednesdays, so my first day off was Thursday. I don't remember much of what I did Thursday, though I'm sure it was terribly interesting. Oh yeah- there was a meeting where we discussed what we wanted to do for Litha- elder wants to have a community ritual. We brainstormed and plotted and came up with some fun ideas.

At some point (Friday I think) I decided after screwing around on the computer for too long that I needed to get outside, so hub and I went to a park nearby and traipsed around for about an hour. We took some pictures of each other in nature, even the standard relative-in-the-bluebonnets shot, where I was sitting in front of a patch of about 5 of them.

We watched Real Sex 20-whatever it is which was entertaining as always. The Penis Puppeteers were my favorite, just for sheer silliness.

Saturday was hellish. I had to go to a stupid 8-hour workshop about risk assessment, which I have been doing for about a year now. So it seemed especially pointless; but at least they will cut me a check since for some governmentally obscure reason they won't let part-timers earn comp time (roll eyes). Then I rushed home for River's yoga class- she is getting certified to teach and offered a freebie for anyone who wanted to play guinea pig. Sadly though everyone decided to stay home for various reasons so it was just her and hub and I, which felt strange. But it was a good class. I enjoyed it, although I didn't feel the energy rush that some say they feel after yoga, especially kundalini yoga which was what River was teaching. Oh well.

After yoga I had a bit of time to eat and get ready for class. One of my Initiates who has been on sabbatical came by and announced that it was time to be active again, and that was really nice to hear since one of the students dropped out. Balance, and all that stuff. I think the class went well- it was the class on Moons, which is one of my favorites to teach. After that I pretty much collapsed.

Yesterday was Copious Boffing Day. Later that afternoon Bob came over and we went to Garden of the Ancients, a very cool place run by an herbalist of exceptional skill. However, despite what the phone message, the sign in the store window and several websites said, they were not open on Sundays, but we didn't discover this until we had poked around the greenhouses and seen lots of neat planty things. The owner wandered out of his house and politely chased us off. Before he did, though, I got to pet what looked like a full-blooded wolf mommy, daddy, and little toddling fuzzy cub. Gar, but it was the cutest thing ever. I gushed for a bit and Bob pointed out that I shouldn't get a wolf... this was weird because it never even occurred to me to want one, I just enjoyed meeting with that one. Kinda like how I feel about kids. :)

We went home and watched a very funny Simpsons, then tried to watch Moulin Rouge (sp?) which did nothing for hub, and put me right to sleep. So we canned that and watched the last episode of Cosmos- 'Who Speaks for Earth?' where he talks about the fate of humanity, and ponders our odds of surviving our civilizational adolescence. He was dire at first, but then expressed hope- pointing out that we had been disarming the nukes and were being better about the environment. It's horribly disturbing to say this, but my thoughts as I listened were 'it's a good thing he's dead now; he would be very bummed at the state of things today.' Ugh.

Today is slog to work day; I really hate DST but I have to say it will be nice to ride home when it's still light. I'm going to pick [livejournal.com profile] todfox up and we're gonna have some tasty hub food, and watch dvds and catch up.

I think I have been good about keeping off these quizzes, but for some reason I was proud of this one.
