Mar. 26th, 2002 12:50 pmToday on Menstrual Cramp Watch '02! More! They went away yesterday morning, came back in the afternoon, went away around dinnertime, came back and effing woke me up at 3-4am so I took some old, old scrip pills that had 'smooth muscle relaxer' on the bottle, woke up feeling fine, and now they're back kicking my ass. Why, uterus, why? You still have a roof over your head, why are you so mean to me?
More Cosmos- last night's episode was 'On the Edge of Forever'. It was about the Big Bang, Doppler shifts, and trying to discover what will happen to the Universe- will we expand forever or contract? And what happened before all that? And did they have different natural laws if there were other Universes before ours? Ol' Carl likes to kick Yahweh in the nuts every chance he gets, and he had many opportunities this episode. He did express admiration for the Hindu creation beliefs, which he explained as such- this Universe is a dream of Brahma. It grows for about 4 billion years, then shrinks for another 4 billion years. This 8 billion year period is one Brahman day. After a Brahma century, he rolls over, wakes up, looks around, scratches his package, then goes back to sleep for another Brahma century. The mind boggles.
Then he mentioned that theory that our whole Universe is an electron in a higher-up Universe, which is an electron in an even bigger Universe, etc... and all our electrons are little Universes, which have electrons that are even smaller Universes, and so on. Once again causing my head to spin. If I didn't already know that Carl smoked pot before, I would sure be thinking it now. :)
