Class went well last night, and hub made me yummy grilled chicken. Yummy, yummy, yummy! Boy do I love teaching. I thought of some more things to do for post-Dedicant classes too... I at least want to expand possibly astrology and definitely Quabala into 2-week classes. There's just too much stuff to cover in one class.

Watched Bill Maher on HBO, and even though he's Libertarian, I agree with a lot of the things he said. It almost makes up for Dennis Miller. Go Bill!

I'm seeing more bluebonnets along the highway. I feel so cheesy because it's such a cliche, but damn, I love love love bluebonnets. Plus, mountain laurels are blooming! I was driven past some, and didn't get the window down in time to smell them. But today I came to work and there was a little scraggly one maybe waist-high; it had two or three tiny clusters of pale purple blooms on it. They had that wonderful grapey smell... ah. They looked a lot like pea flowers.

Godammit! My father can be such a huge asshole sometimes.

So, Mom went home after visiting me and the next day she creamed a big truck of some sort in her little Eclipse or whatever it is. It's still drivable, but not by a lot and now she has to screw with getting it fixed, deductibles, renting a car, and all that horseshit, and she is pretty much broke. If that weren't bad enough, her blood sugar's shot up (she's NID diabetic) to over 300 and hasn't gone down since, despite her efforts. Today it was 460. She says it's mostly the stress. She promised me she would call her doctor tomorrow. I'm going to call her tomorrow night and see how she's doing; that worries me a lot.

So what does Dad do? He calls her up, starts getting all upset about Bro, and starts yelling at her. He's apparently been talking to some preacher who, not knowing Bro or ever having spoken to him, thinks Bro is crazy. So he's all alarmed and calling Mom to yell at her, which she does NOT need. She told him several times to calm down and finally had to tell him that she didn't want to hear about it anymore. If you had any idea what a lonely person my mother is, for her to say this to him means he had to push her pretty damn far. What a prick.
