Feb. 17th, 2002 10:47 amThe wedding went pretty well. I arrived early and my friend was way too busy to mess with doing my makeup, so she sent me to the makeup ladies. They spent 15-20 minutes painting and powdering and putting weird machinery on my eyelashes and other bizarre arcane stuff. It felt odd, and I always feel like a hooker with that much makeup on. But everyone who said anything about it said I looked fine, so I tried not to think about it. When we got going, everyone stood up when the bride came into the tent. I understand this is traditional, but our wedding was in a park and everyone was standing anyway so I hadn't noticed it. The wedding I did last May was so laid-back and informal that I don't think anyone stood. The thing is, as soon as my friend and her groom were there, I forgot about the audience and probably should have said something like 'siddown, y'all!' but since I didn't, they stood for the whole thing. And I didn't even notice! This is why Eric, who was sitting in the back, didn't get any action shots, which is a bummer.
