The wedding went pretty well. I arrived early and my friend was way too busy to mess with doing my makeup, so she sent me to the makeup ladies. They spent 15-20 minutes painting and powdering and putting weird machinery on my eyelashes and other bizarre arcane stuff. It felt odd, and I always feel like a hooker with that much makeup on. But everyone who said anything about it said I looked fine, so I tried not to think about it. When we got going, everyone stood up when the bride came into the tent. I understand this is traditional, but our wedding was in a park and everyone was standing anyway so I hadn't noticed it. The wedding I did last May was so laid-back and informal that I don't think anyone stood. The thing is, as soon as my friend and her groom were there, I forgot about the audience and probably should have said something like 'siddown, y'all!' but since I didn't, they stood for the whole thing. And I didn't even notice! This is why Eric, who was sitting in the back, didn't get any action shots, which is a bummer.

I'm told the ceremony was something like 5-10 minutes; of course it felt a lot longer. I think the only thing I screwed up was fumbling around with the handfasting cord, but what the heck- any public event where I don't projectile vomit on someone is a success as far as I'm concerned. Then we ate some chow; The bride was of course very busy being congratulated but I hung out with Eric and some friends and had a fairly good time. The food was pretty good. I was beat so we ended up heading home pretty soon after the cake was cut. The bride thanked me and said that everyone complimented her on the ceremony- which she wrote, but I was glad I could be a part of it.

When we got home I decided why waste a professional makeup job and had Eric take a few pictures of me- artsy fartsy ones where I'm sprawling on the bed (with the Moon comforter) petting the cat. Hopefully I won't look too much like Dr.Evil. Then we went to bed fairly early since I had to work the next day. The cats all decided to stomp all over the place and then go take dumps in the litterbox (in the connecting bathroom) all at the same time around 5:30am, so I've been more or less awake since then. Bleah.

The kitten is still bolting whenever I approach her, but she seems to be making a point to hang out near me a lot more often; I'm still chatting with her and hoping she'll get used to me eventually. I fear she may be unadoptable, because it's been since Thanksgiving and we've made glacial progress; I don't have hopes that if someone else adopted her, that she would get used to them much faster. I just hope the trust in me is not specific to me, and she will be more trusting of humans in general.

Godammit to fucking hell! This (points to hole showing ass, at work no less) is what I get for buying $7 sweatpants at Wal-Mart. I've worn them maybe 3 times. Motherfu(&$"}+(*%#@!!!
