Okay, I'm going to guess that my audience is probably getting sick of these posts, especially now that they're going to come more often. So, behold the gift of the LJ-cut! But wait, before that, I wanted to mention that I've also abandoned my policy of downloading every song I've sung. I mean, I'm probably eventually going to sing every song on Rock Band 1 and 2, and I really don't want to have to download any more songs I hate. I mean, I really hate "Aqualung". And as much as I approve of the spirit of the Grateful Dead, their music does nothing for me. I'll probably still download songs I like, just like normal people do.
And another thing! I somehow screwed up my profile and ended up making two by accident. Then I proceeded to rack up a whole lot of stuff on the second one, the one we got to work. But I wanted the first one, and after talking to a couple of different people and being on the phone for at least an hour, it appears to be impossible. I was able to change the name of my current one to something I like better, though it cost me. Feh. And I still haven't managed to figure out how to link my game stuff to my profile on rockband.com after beating my head against it for much, much too long. I dunno if it's bad luck, or my vagina, or what. I'll see if a fresh pair of eyes can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Last night it was just Eric and I at home (me on vocals and Eric on drums), but Stevie messaged us through the magic of 360 Live and sat in as the drummer for awhile while Eric played guitar. I did all these on hard.
"Creep" Radiohead (0/98)
"Here It Goes Again" OK Go (0/96)
"I Think I’m Paranoid" Garbage (0/93)
"Kids In America" The Muffs (0/99)
"Say It Ain't So" Weezer (0/85)
"Perfect Drug" Nine Inch Nails (1/93) Well, I'm improving...
"See You" Foo Fighters (1/97)
"Everlong" Foo Fighters (2/88, 92) So we picked a setlist, right? And the game says "hey, we'll add a random difficult song for an encore and if you pull it off you'll be extra-cool!" and we said sure, and after finishing this one, the last song we picked, it then had us play the same song for the encore. The crowd must love the hell out of this song. At least it wasn't "Today".
"Nine in the Afternoon" Panic at the Disco (2/97)
"Girl's Not Grey" AFI (3/97, 100)
"Rock'n Me" Steve Miller Band (3/98)
"Almost Easy" Avenged Sevenfold (4/90)
"That's What You Get" Paramore (4/95)
"Alabama Getaway" Grateful Dead (5/94) Oooh, I hated this song. It was so... I dunno, red-necky sounding. Ugh.
"Any Way You Want It" Journey (5/95)
"New Kid in School" Donnas (5/90)
"You Oughta Know" Alanis Morissette (5/94) Yeah, yeah, the angry girl song. Hey, this was cool when it came out.
"Down With The Sickness" Disturbed (6/92) I was only familiar with the Richard Cheese version. Which, I have to say, I liked better than this one.
"Psycho Killer" Talking Heads (6/94) Not sure how this rates as difficult as it does, but I was really familiar with this one so that probably factored in. The girls at the residential treatment center (aka nuthouse for children) where I used to work particularly liked this song.
"The Trees" Rush (6/89) Hard to sing, glad I knew it.
As we tour more and get more fans, the game's giving us more difficult songs, which only makes sense. I think today I'm gonna try some on expert level. Wowee!
