We need a new fence. A lot of the planks are falling down, leaning, rotting; the gate doesn't shut really because the wood around the metal fixtures is rotted.

So I was thinking about this today; we may get a small windfall from my dad, and I was sort of mourning the fact that we may have to spend it on something so mundane. But just in case I didn't get a big enough hint, this afternoon I noticed one of the cats staring intently out into the back yard. So I look out there, and there's this freaking huge dog drinking out of our pool. I have no idea who he is; when I made it clear that I saw him, he came galloping up to the sliding glass door wagging his tail. So I gave him a fig kolache. Hopefully that and the pool will sate him and he won't eat me.

Not particularly, but I've made the mistake before and gotten bitten by a very friendly-looking dog, so I'm often extra-cautious.
