It has been a pleasantly full day.
I did my shift, which was a godawful bunch of hotel reviews (I'm telling you- waffles make everything okay) and then got ready for my bass lesson (more on that in a moment). I sped home to play some Guitar Hero with Stevie- he has buried the hatchet with GH, and though both of us agree that Rock Band is much better, GH is still fun. I finally got to sing 'Shiver', along with 'Little Wing' (Hendrix- came out the year I was born, so well-aspected), 'The One I Love' (R.E.M.), 'Trapped Under Ice' (Metallica) with 'Band on the Run' (Wings) immediately thereafter for contrast, and 'Hot For Teacher' (Van Halen).
Pixie came over and we completed Stage Two of the first batch of mead, which went much faster than Stage One- this involves adding another pint of honey plus a quart of water plus any other flavorings you decide to add. Mine's not looking so well, not sure what to do about that.
Threeve needed a ride from the scooter place and I was starving at that point, so we swung by to get Eric and on his recommendation went to Top Notch. Threeve wanted fried chicken and I'd initially thought Hoovers- but apparently they only sell fried chicken for brunch on the weekends. WTF? Anyway, Eric had heard that Top Notch has some good fried chicken. See, making good fried chicken is time-consuming so most places just do chicken tenders or nuggets or poppers or whatever-the-fuck. Not Top Notch. Their fried chicken is indeed the shizznit, apparently- I say this because gnawing meat off bones makes me a little queasy, but they also make a perfectly serviceable burger, and they have pretty awesome shakes too.
Then home, and time to walk my fat shake-loving ass around the block a couple of times. Now, more Battlestar Galactica.
