After getting the Family Guy and Robot Chicken Star Wars dvds, now I want to watch Star Wars proper. My brother and I managed to talk our parents into taking us to see it probably ten times when it was in the theaters. And this was back when once it left the theaters, you had a good chance of never, ever seeing it again. So, now it's time.

Did you see it yet? Because if not, you should check with me first. I have several versions on tape and DVD, most importantly I have the original version with all its original flaws and poopy effects Han shooting first and whatnot. It's actually harder to find than you'd think, and a MUCH better film than the "improved" ones that came later.

We watched the first torrent Eric grabbed last night, which happened to be one of the fucked-with versions. Yeah, the fucked-with parts were annoying but they were few and far between enough that I didn't mind too much.

Hey, what is it with rings coming out of explosions? I know that damn well doesn't happen when stuff in space blows up, but does that happen in any sort of explosion? I think that bothered me more than anything else.

But the rest of it... ahhh, the memories. The chirps R2 made that I almost had memorized. Grand sweeping desert vistas. John fucking Williams. Good stuff.
